Your recovering Pharisee label, describes me to a tee. I am an x-catholic, which for me means that my phariseeism was pretty extreme in my early walk as well as now. I have a very good idea of how important your ministry was to the soul. I think i understand your decisions as well.

clarification on my statement, as it sounds confusing like most of the things I say. Please note, Paul didn’t change his identity of who he was in Christ, but the mode at which he would reflect Christ to a believer or unbeliever. In otherwords, “mix it up a little!” “Keepin’ it fresh!” Hope that clarifies the point.

Someone will have to help me on the Scripture reference, but wasn’t it Paul that said he must adjust to the person he was to tell Christ about. Blessed is the man who listens to the Spirits calling and follows His ways. Looking forward to the “Revelation” of the new name. However, currently in the old testament, and hope that you have found a way to encorporate “the law” as well as the “the redeemer” into the new name! May God’s blessings continue to be upon you as you reach for the lost sheep!

It was the “Recovering Pharisee” title that first drew my attention to you because it resonated with me personally. But, then, I am a “church person.” Your current comment that only church people know the term “Pharisee” reminds me that only church people can BE Pharisees. I, like many others of more legalistic upbr…ingings, knew what I was saved FROM, but not what I was saved TO. Meeting God’s grace and learning of his very real love for me, even me, was a dramatic change in my life, and the beginning of my recovery process.

But you are absolutely right in your reason for changing your label and your target audience. We must share Christ with those who don’t know Him. And we hope NOT to share our stifling Phariseeism. The original Pharisaical arrogance arose from generations of worshipping the Law but not the Lawgiver, and that arrogance blinded them to the Messiah when He appeared. I wouldn’t say He’s Dead though. In recovery you are always recovering. You’ll always be a Recovering Pharisee, always prone to relapses. I pray not though.

But if God is changing your target then let it the “name” go by all means. The anticipation of the secret name is killing me, no not really, but looking forward to know for sure. Maybe it’s going to be “Formerly known as Recovering Pharisee?”

Hey Kary, I haven’t been around your blog long enough to be qualified to have an opinion. But if God says do something, I do have an opinion on that! You’d better do it!

My blog posts usually end up more “churchy” than I intend (46 years is a hard habit to break) but I try to keep in mind what would a non-believer think if they read it? Would they understand? Would it mean anything to them?

Looking forward to watching your journey (and The Secret).
