For me Dave Ramsey’s talk takes the cake. Wow, what a leader who operates with Grace and clarity. That session alone inspired the team. More than that it provided tools for us to practically measure and implement within our context.
I gave Matt Chandler a standing ovation because of his boldness to preach the word and unapologetically package truth without pulling any punches. I valued the other speakers, but a few had the cotton-candy effect = tastes great in the mouth but leaves no sustainable nutrients after digestion. Matt on the other hand, prepared a meal for us.
Young leaders must get this. If we walk away convinced that effective speaking rests upon our stories and illustrations without the Word, then I believe we’ve failed to pass the baton effectively. Shame on us.
I don’t expect Collins or Godin to deliver the Word. I listen the them for the common grace they offer and the amazing insight they manufacture. And I learned some amazing tips from them.
Over all, Catalyst was an amazing experience and I met some great people in the process.
