The response is found in the O. T. when a king was told about the wrath of God to come. 2nd Kings 22:19-20: “Because your heart was responsive and you humbled yourself before the LORD when you heard what I have spoken against this place and its people…because you tore your robes and wept in my presence, I also have heard you, declares the LORD… therefore… your eyes will not see all the disaster I am going to bring on this place.”

The severity of your disaster is irrelevant in God’s kingdom, for it is not the problem itself but your approach to God that makes the difference. If you wish to petition the King of Mercy then it is not about you, your cries for yourself but that you fall to praise that King of mercy for it will be Him that you seek to deliver you. It is about how you approach Him.

In any situation God wants you to be ALL HIS, focused, in tune and eyes on Him.
We humble and seek and see nothing (lean not to your own understanding) yet God is in control. We “cry out” from the depths of our hearts and see nothing (lean not to your own understanding).

“I will give you the oil of joy in the midst of despair and a heart of peace in the midst of circumstance. You will say with a whole heart and be able to mean it… “I lack for nothing my Father… I serve the King of Kings.”

Petition God in humbleness, on your face, with your eyes off yourself and fixed on God.

Petition God with a whole heart and it is not about “me“, “myself” or “my sins”, it is about… a Holy God, the Lord Almighty.
