Great posts… How do you think this applies to the SBC stance against women as pastors?

    Dion,

Whereas I believe the spiritual gift of pastor can be given to women (according to Eph. 4 and Titus 2 – women to women), many American churches have their pastors function as Elders (ruling and governing – 1 Pet 5) and therefore it complicates the issue. The function of New Testament Elders (ruling and governing) is reserved for males. The American church title of Pastor confuses the issue and prevents some women from using their pastoral (shepherding) gift.

Does this make sense? If not…let’s do coffee and not sound bytes…look me up.

    Great question by the way.
