Misconception #1 – The 10 most common misconceptions about women which leads to sloppy theology

The 10 most common misconceptions about women which leads to sloppy theology. (Download the sermon here.)

REASON #1

  • Women can only rise in influence as high as the least influential man.
In Romans 16, 7 of the 17 names listed are women. Paul knew more than 1o men, but “they” didn’t make the cut. Evidently, these 7 women were worth mentioning.

This series was fun.

Thanks for tuning in.

  1. Kary, thanks for bringing this subject to light, however as a woman I thought Misconception #s 1-8 were pretty vanilla or non issues. The hot button issue is more like #9, possibly 10 too. What would be helpful is a real Biblical exploration without our own prejudicial slant to whether women can be leaders in the church and whether they can be allowed to teach and lead men in any church context.

    • Lori,

As always, I appreciate your honesty. It keeps me sharp. I will have a second podcast on this subject, because of the number of facebook comments, out next week. I will make sure I post about it.

      Blessings.

  2. I am unapologetically Complementarian and I have been excused for thinking all 10 misconceptions.

While I will not tire of preaching the Gospel, I do get tired of explaining that, “No, that is not what Complementarianism is about, let me explain… blah, blah, blah”.
