I hated myself but never had the courage to cut myself. I totally get what you meant about the other half. Turning to God as being screwed up and letting Him love us.

Kary: I am not sure if my blog fits in with any of your descriptions so far *smile* but I reckon I will wait to see what happens with all of them and then evaluate. I am not writing about that. I am writing about your subject matter. I am not a cutter and never have had a desire to but in my last ministry met one for the very first time. Hers was (she says) a result of molestation. Marks all over her arms, and she says her stomach and legs (never saw those). I do believe that other issues were at play but I was unable to help her. She finally left town and I have not heard from her since. I never understood the cutting and in many ways would still have to feign ignorance. I did get some insight though by listening to your talk and then email to the young lady. I do pray she finds help in Jesus and applaud you for continuing to try to help. I appreciate that you are not dropping her after one email. Anyway, thanks for your honesty. I also checked out Tullian’s blog and have added him to my Google Reader. Anne is already there.
