Want to know THE secret?
Here it is: The secret to getting what you want is knowing what you want.
Simple? Maybe. But certainly not simplistic.
I interact with many people who, when asked directly, buckle under this question. They don’t know what they want.
The Master Teacher Himself asked this obvious question:
Two blind men were sitting by the roadside, and when they heard that Jesus was going by, they shouted, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!” Jesus stopped and called them. “What do you want me to do for you?” he asked.
Was Jesus rude? or uncaring? or unkind? Did He not see they were blind? Maybe He wanted to know if they knew they were blind. Maybe He wanted to see if they saw their state? And if they wanted something different. Or if they were content in their condition.
Jesus knew that clarity preceded conversion. That truth preceded transformation.
If you don’t know what you want, you’ll never get what you want.
Think with the end in mind. Clarify your condition.
