Yeah, I’m not sure. Some of these statements seem to reflect something of an arbitrary interpretation of the Bible. Of course I am reading them out of context.

Way to tell the truth Neil, truth hurts many.

On the surface Neil T Anderson’s teachings seem biblical. However they are actually very legalistic and even gnostic when it comes to his extreme views on sexuality.
His focus is on our performance instead of the goodness of God revealed in Jesus.
If you do this course expect to be frustrated, shamed, unable to live up to the demands, and disappointed. Going beyond God’s laws and adding new ones is not smart theology. In the old testament Jews were banned by God from adding more rules. However, Anderson does this time and time again. Is lust or gluttony really a big deal in the Bible ? If so what are the lovers doing in Song of Songs ? Why isn’t Jesus going round shouting sinner at fat people in the gospels ? Anderson is obsessed with sexual thoughts and over eating. Neither are a big deal to God. The one verse he quotes again and again on sexuality is actually a mistranslation. Jesus actually says in Greek -’ do not look at a wife to covet her’ – not ‘do not lust after women’. This one error in translation puts millions under condemnation for something that is part of our nature. Its actually pretty obvious that this translation is wrong as two single people cannot commit adultery ! Yet under Anderson’s theology they can ‘lust’ and need to repent ! (The Greek word for woman is translated either woman or wife according to the context. The word translated ‘lust’ in Matt 5.28 actually means strong desire and isn’t a word indicating sexual lust at all. Check out Strong’s dictionary if you want proof !).
There is a big difference from what is God’s perfect will for our lives and his permissive will. Under Anderson’s theology King Solomon would be put on a church accountability course and told to repent. By contrast a man who made love to up to 1,000 women was unique in that he was visited by God twice ! God didn’t have a problem with his lust at all, until he took foreign wives ! Was his behavior God’s best – no ! However it was his faith in God and God’s love for him that counted. Similarly Rahab the prostitute would not expect to be commended by God for her lifestyle either. However it was her faith not her job that made her one of the few people commended by God in the old testament.
This course will ultimately frustrate you. You cannot live by rules to make God love you more and fix yourself. Jesus came to save us – which in Greek means ‘sozo’ – or make us whole. The entire emphasis of Neil’s theology is that we fix ourselves. Good luck on that one – it doesn’t work for long ! Neil also avoids any mention of divine healing. This is a serious error and shows that he actually has an unbelief problem to repent of. The Western church’s problem is unbelief of the goodness of God as revealed by Jesus. ! Divine healing only works if you believe Jesus WILL heal you because he paid for it. This was half Jesus mission and yet Anderson completely ignores it ! Jesus never asked anyone to repent before he healed them – but he did want them to believe he was a good person and would heal them before they got healed. You can’t fix an unbelief problem with repentance alone. You have to focus on the goodness of God revealed in Jesus. Anderson is not really grace based at all because his focus is in the wrong place.
He talks about not over obsessing about demons and then does just that ! He suggests repetitive prayers to keep Satan from your dreams. Well Satan is actually only an angel and can only be in one place at one time. Neil forgets this. Repetitive prayers are a sign that you don’t really believe God for protection. God doesn’t have short term memory loss. Again the focus should be on how much God will protect us, not on us having to pray repetitive prayers for protection.
There is a lot wrong with this course, and I suspect it will actually drive many away from the church in frustration in their inability to live up to the extra rules Anderson has come up with.
