Are you a leader? I’ll tell you what’s killing you.

We’re all going to die. Plain and simple.

That fact alone is why many of us are in the “business” of preparing others for death by leveraging their destinies in life. You can call that business: MINISTRY and I’ve been in “professional” ministry for over 10 years.

Bottom line. I’ve seen more ministry leaders waste more time then I care to admit.

I know what you’re picturing: youth pastors wasting time in their offices playing video games, endless meetings preparing for new budgets and buildings.

Sure. Sure.

But more than that, I’m talking about POOR LEADERSHIP: mismanaged priorities, lack of self-awareness, fear of empowerment, and unclear expectations.killing-cockroaches11

Are you a leader? If so, life is too short to waste your influence. Quit making excuses and take charge of the  2 square feet around you. If you’re not leading your self well, my firm conviction is you can’t lead others well. Your followers  know this. It’s why some of them probably already left you. They saw the gaps and lost respect.

Please. Don’t let this discourage you. Let it embolden you and motivate you to action.

On our deathbeds people want one thing. Not more money, or more titles, or more real estate.

They want more TIME.

BAD LEADERS KILL TIME. They do this by bad leadership choices. And as the quote goes, “To kill time is to wound eternity.”

The solution? Stop killing time. Rather, invest it by reading, Killing Cockroaches.

Author Tony Morgan has a confrontational new book that will be sure to identify your gaps in leadership and put you on a path to close those gaps. For those leaders courageous enough to deal with their junk I encourage you to check out the short video below and more importantly, check out the book on Amazon. Morgan’s book will demonstrate how “killing cockroaches” is hijacking your legacy as a leader.

Ooze Select Blogger

Posted by Kary Oberbrunner | Posted in Faith and Culture, review | Posted on 03-02-2009

For some reason (unbeknowst to me) I was chosen to be an Ooze Select Blogger (actually it’s thanks to you readers).

What does this mean for you the reader?

That I will be reviewing books, telling you which ones are worth your dollar and which ones you should pass up.

What does it mean for me?

Read the email I was sent below. And be on the lookout for more posts in the near future. I have 5 new books sitting on my desk…so you will get a post on some very soon.
For the past two years, http://theOoze.com has been piloting a program with selectpublishers where we send bloggers & podcasters (at no cost to you) new and even upcoming releases—some before anyone else sees them. We ask that you read these when you can, and blog about them within the month. Whenever possible, I also get you unprecedented access to the authors of these titles, so you can host a blog interview if you’re inclined.

What books?
All kinds. The reason I’m writing you today is because I’m getting ready to send a shipment of titles later this week, and I’m really excited about the combo.

Theology, spirituality, justice, practical living, science, philosophy, art, literature—over the next 12 months, we plan to seek a variety of engaging releases with discriminating emerging readers in mind. Think of it as an exclusive book club for top-tier bloggers like yourself.
