REASON #1

  • Women can only rise in influence as high as the least influential man.
In Romans 16, 7 of the 17 names listed are women. Paul knew more than 1o men, but “they” didn’t make the cut. Evidently, these 7 women were worth mentioning.

Listen to our good buddy John MacArthur on this point too:

During the first few centuries of the church, the role of a woman servant (diakonos) was to care for fellow believers who were sick, for the poor, for strangers passing through, and for the imprisoned. They also were responsible for helping baptize and disciple new women converts and to instruct children and other women.

Coming for the next 10 days…an edgy but important top 10:

The 10 most common misconceptions about women which leads to sloppy theology

REASON #10

  • Women are merely helpers and therefore they’re insignificant. Genesis 1:27&28—Male & female reflects God’s image. Three commands (1. Be fruitful, multiply, and fill the earth 2. Subdue the earth 3. Rule the earth are called the “Cultural Mandate”) are given and they’re only possible through men & women. Genesis 2:18—”I will make him a helper.”  Helper = Hebrew word  Azar = Psalm 30:11; 54:4; 121:2 (Used of God as our helper).
